Measuring the state of opportunity

The Opportunity Index is the first statistical measure of access to the American Dream. It gives policymakers and leaders an interactive tool to identify areas for improvement and gauge progress over time. The Index is designed to connect economic, educational, and civic factors together to help identify concrete solutions to lagging conditions for opportunity and economic mobility. This briefing book tells the story of the data.
